From IGNITE to See Space Differently.
At the launch of See Space Differently, we paused to reflect on where this journey began — with IGNITE.
Delegates were invited to look back at what IGNITE created, and then look forward to what could come next.
The reflections showed that IGNITE was never just about events. It was about creating connections, sparking ideas and giving people the confidence to turn possibilities into action.
Some of the reflections shared on the day:
- “In one IGNITE event, it was possible to meet more actively engaged professionals than through wide-reaching research.”
- “IGNITE is about making things happen — going beyond imagining and bringing ideas to life.”
- “It created connected inspiration — bringing together people who would not normally meet and creating opportunities for collaboration.”
- “It was inclusive. It created a space where different voices, ideas and experiences could come together.”
IGNITE became a viewfinder.
A viewfinder doesn’t just crop a picture — it reveals that every space has a hundred different versions of itself, depending on where you choose to stand.
Now See Space Differently takes that idea forward.
We are asking a bigger question:
What potential exists within the spaces around us?
Delegates reflected on the need to look outward, not inward, and to recognise that change happens when we are all prepared to play an active role.
- “I see space as pure potential.”
- “I see space differently when I consider the individual, cultural and environmental context surrounding an artwork — and the ways art and architecture can explore ideas and empower people.”
The future is about creating places where talent can be discovered, businesses can grow, communities can participate and ideas can become action.
